Smite What it does Deals Holy damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Use it for repeated Holy hits, with Purifying Flame and Chastise turning critical strikes into additional effects.
Watch the condition The burn and free Holy Nova require their talents; the base Smite is a direct hit.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Shadow damage over time
Shadow Word: Pain What it does Applies Shadow damage over time to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Spread ongoing damage through enemies you can keep at range, then connect its ticks to Mind Blast through Shadowy Apparitions.
Watch the condition The free Mind Blast is a chance-based talent trigger, and Shadowform's spreading effect requires an afflicted enemy to die.
Talent connections Shadowy Apparitions Starts the run with Shadow Word: Pain; its ticks can trigger free Mind Blasts, subject to a rate limit.
Shadowform An enemy dying with Shadow Word: Pain explodes and passes the effect to a nearby enemy.
Plan Priest talents → Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Direct Shadow hit
Mind Blast What it does Deals Shadow damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Choose it when a stronger direct hit complements Shadow Word: Pain's delayed damage.
Watch the condition It does not automatically follow every Pain tick; that free-cast relationship requires Shadowy Apparitions and is rate-limited.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Area damage and healing
Holy Nova What it does Deals Holy damage to enemies in a circle around you. It also restores health, with additional healing for each enemy hit.
When to choose it Use it when nearby enemies give the burst both a damage target and additional healing value.
Watch the condition Its area is centered on you. Healing from hitting a crowd does not make it reach distant enemies.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Absorb protection
Power Word: Shield What it does Creates an absorb shield based on your maximum health. The ordinary cast is renewed after the shield breaks.
When to choose it Choose it when preventing the next hit is more useful than waiting for health to be restored afterward.
Watch the condition Its absorb amount is limited. The base shield is recast after it breaks; Rapture's immediate replacement is a separate talent trigger.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Healing over time
Renew What it does Restores a portion of your maximum health over time once you fall below 85% health.
When to choose it Use it to recover during movement after a damaging exchange, while your ranged spells continue working.
Watch the condition The healing is spread over time and normally begins only below 85% health, so it cannot instantly replace health lost to a sudden burst.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Heavy Holy hit
Holy Fire What it does Deals Holy damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Use it as a larger direct hit alongside Smite, with Purifying Flame adding a burn to critical strikes.
Watch the condition The base spell's name does not establish a burn; the documented critical-strike burn comes from Purifying Flame.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Slowing Shadow cone
Mind Flay What it does Deals Shadow damage in a cone in front of you. Hits also slow affected enemies.
When to choose it Consider it when a group is approaching from one direction and slowing that approach would preserve a path.
Watch the condition The cone points in front of you. Enemies behind or outside its reach are not covered.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Surrounding fear
Psychic Scream What it does Deals Shadow damage to enemies in a circle around you. Affected enemies flee; bosses are immune to the fear.
When to choose it Take it when nearby ordinary enemies are closing every route and making them flee will create space.
Watch the condition Bosses are unaffected by fear, so this control effect does not solve pressure from a boss alone.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Damage-over-time recovery
Devouring Plague What it does Applies Shadow damage over time to several enemies within range. A portion of the damage it deals heals you.
When to choose it Use it on enemies that survive long enough for multiple ticks, letting its Shadow damage also restore health.
Watch the condition Recovery depends on the damage it deals; a quickly defeated target provides fewer remaining ticks.
Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Priest · Stationary Holy damage
Lightwell What it does A stationary Lightwell appears when enemies are nearby and repeatedly deals Holy damage to enemies within its firing range.
When to choose it Consider it when you can fight around the place a well appears, allowing repeated shots from that position.
Watch the condition This Lightwell attacks enemies. It is stationary and requires enemies nearby before appearing, so constant movement can leave its range behind.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Priest talents → Priest field guide Shadow spread arrow interface symbol Shaman · Ranged Nature strikes
Lightning Bolt What it does Deals Nature damage to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Use it as regular ranged pressure, with Lightning Overload or Windfury adding extra strikes.
Watch the condition The additional strikes depend on their selected talent and chance roll; the base spell does not always repeat.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Chained Nature damage
Chain Lightning What it does A Nature hit starts at the nearest enemy, then jumps to nearby targets with reduced damage on each ordinary jump.
When to choose it Pick it when enemies are close enough for the bolt to jump through a group rather than stop after the first target.
Watch the condition Each ordinary jump is weaker and needs another enemy within jump reach. Elemental Fury removes the damage loss.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Direct Nature hit
Earth Shock What it does Deals Nature damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Take it when you want a direct Nature hit to complement Chain Lightning or damage-over-time effects.
Watch the condition The base effect is damage; Windfury's extra strikes require the talent and are chance-based.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Fire damage over time
Flame Shock What it does Applies Fire damage over time to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Use it to leave ongoing damage on enemies while you move and let other attacks handle immediate pressure.
Watch the condition Its damage is delivered in ticks. It does not provide a ground area or an immediate whole-wave burst.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Ranged Frost slow
Frost Shock What it does Deals Frost damage to several enemies within range. Hits also slow affected enemies.
When to choose it Choose it to slow a few approaching targets while continuing to damage them at range.
Watch the condition The slow applies only to enemies hit and does not hold them completely still.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Melee retaliation
Lightning Shield What it does While active, melee attackers take retaliatory damage when they hit you.
When to choose it Consider it when close enemies are repeatedly landing melee hits and you want those contacts to return damage.
Watch the condition It retaliates against melee attackers; it is not the absorb shield suggested by its name.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Shaman talents → Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Totem area damage
Magma Totem What it does Places a temporary totem beside you that repeatedly deals Fire damage around itself.
When to choose it Use it when enemies will remain close to a placed totem, allowing its repeated area pulses to hit them.
Watch the condition The totem stays beside its placement point. Moving a pack away can leave its remaining lifetime with no nearby targets.
Talent connections Call of Flame Increases Fire Nova, Magma Totem and Flame Shock damage. This talent is distinct from the Call of Flame ability.
Call of the Elements Makes Searing Totem the opening spell and places an additional totem whenever you place one.
Totemic Mastery Extends Magma Totem's reach and adds targets to Searing Totem.
Plan Shaman talents → Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Totem ranged pressure
Searing Totem What it does Places a temporary totem beside you that repeatedly shoots enemies within range for Fire damage.
When to choose it Choose it when a stationary helper can keep shooting while you move through the surrounding fight.
Watch the condition It has a limited lifetime and firing range. Relocating far away does not move an existing totem with you.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Surrounding Fire burst
Fire Nova What it does Deals Fire damage to enemies in a circle around you.
When to choose it Take it when your position becomes crowded and an immediate local burst complements slower totem or damage-over-time effects.
Watch the condition The spell hits around you. Its listed base effect is not conditional on a totem expiring; that is Call of Flame's separate trigger.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Direct self-heal
Healing Wave What it does Restores a portion of your maximum health immediately once you fall below 85% health.
When to choose it Use it when you need a larger recovery after taking damage, with Healing Way strengthening that recovery.
Watch the condition The ordinary cast waits until you are below 85% health; it does not add damage or control to the attack cycle.
Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Shaman · Totem-expiry explosion
Call of Flame What it does Your totems release Fire explosions around their positions when they expire.
When to choose it Pair the ability with totems that can remain near enemies until their lifetimes end, turning expiration into another damage event.
Watch the condition It needs a totem to expire and an enemy near that totem. The same-named talent improves several Fire spells instead of granting this ability's trigger.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Shaman talents → Shaman field guide Chain Lightning arrow interface symbol Rogue · Fast melee coverage
Sinister Strike What it does Deals Physical damage to several nearby enemies.
When to choose it Use it against close pursuers, then add Mutilate for repeat hits or the Blade Flurry talent for spillover damage.
Watch the condition It requires nearby targets. The Blade Flurry talent is distinct from the learnable Blade Flurry area-damage ability.
Talent connections Mutilate Adds an immediate second hit to each target struck by Sinister Strike or Backstab.
Blade Flurry Hits from Sinister Strike and Eviscerate also strike additional enemies near their targets. This is separate from the Blade Flurry ability.
Killing Spree Adds a target to Sinister Strike and recurring free casts.
Plan Rogue talents → Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Low-health finisher
Eviscerate What it does A close-range Physical strike deals double damage to targets below 30% health, prioritizing bosses and elites before other wounded enemies.
When to choose it Use it to finish damaged enemies and take advantage of the additional free Eviscerates produced by the Seal Fate ability.
Watch the condition Its low-health multiplier requires a target below 30% health. Free casts from Seal Fate require building combo points.
Talent connections Blade Flurry Hits from Sinister Strike and Eviscerate also strike additional enemies near their targets. This is separate from the Blade Flurry ability.
Improved Eviscerate Increases Eviscerate damage.
Shadow Dance Starts the run with Backstab and adds damage around Backstab and Eviscerate targets.
Plan Rogue talents → Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Surrounding melee burst
Blade Flurry What it does Deals Physical damage to enemies in a circle around you.
When to choose it Take the ability when enemies approach from several sides and a strike aimed at only a few targets leaves gaps.
Watch the condition This ability is an area attack around you. The same-named talent instead adds spillover to Sinister Strike and Eviscerate.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Rogue talents → Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Physical damage over time
Rupture What it does Applies Physical damage over time to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Use it to keep damaging durable nearby enemies after applying the bleed and moving out of immediate danger.
Watch the condition Its damage is spread over time. Improved Poisons names Rupture explicitly, despite the talent's poison-themed name.
Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Melee stun
Kidney Shot What it does Deals Physical damage to several nearby enemies. Hits also stun affected enemies.
When to choose it Choose it when briefly stopping close threats is more valuable than adding another pure damage strike.
Watch the condition Bosses are stunned for a quarter of the normal duration. The attack must first reach its targets.
Talent connections Setup Shortens the cooldowns of Kidney Shot and Gouge.
Dirty Deeds Increases your damage against controlled enemies, including those stunned by these attacks.
Plan Rogue talents → Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Short melee stun
Gouge What it does Deals Physical damage to several nearby enemies. Hits also stun affected enemies.
When to choose it Use it to interrupt pressure from several close enemies; Preparation can add recurring free casts.
Watch the condition The checked spell applies a stun. Bosses receive a shorter duration, and the automatic extra casts require Preparation.
Talent connections Setup Shortens the cooldowns of Kidney Shot and Gouge.
Dirty Deeds Increases your damage against controlled enemies, including those stunned by these attacks.
Preparation Adds a regularly recurring free Gouge.
Plan Rogue talents → Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Attack-built shield
Ghostly Strike What it does Deals Physical damage to a nearby enemy. Each enemy hit builds an absorb shield, subject to a maximum total.
When to choose it Consider it when you can land close attacks and want their hits to build an absorb buffer.
Watch the condition The shield gained from hits is capped and lasts until broken. It does not prevent all damage like an immunity effect.
Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Cooldown acceleration
Adrenaline Rush What it does Temporarily speeds up cooldown recovery, activating when enemies are nearby.
When to choose it Add it when waiting between your existing attacks is the main gap in your damage or control cycle.
Watch the condition It accelerates recovery during a temporary window; it does not directly deal damage or add new targets.
Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Melee finisher
Backstab What it does A close-range Physical strike deals double damage to targets below 30% health, prioritizing bosses and elites before other wounded enemies.
When to choose it Choose it to finish wounded enemies, especially with Mutilate's second hit or Shadow Dance's splash.
Watch the condition Its doubled-damage condition is the enemy's health falling below 30%; it still needs a target within melee range.
Talent connections Mutilate Adds an immediate second hit to each target struck by Sinister Strike or Backstab.
Shadow Dance Starts the run with Backstab and adds damage around Backstab and Eviscerate targets.
Opportunity Increases Backstab damage.
Plan Rogue talents → Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Temporary damage buff
Slice and Dice What it does Temporarily increases the damage you deal, activating when enemies are nearby.
When to choose it Take it when your attack set already connects reliably and a damage increase will help finish those targets.
Watch the condition In this client it increases damage while active. Do not treat the name as proof of a separate attack-speed effect.
Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Rogue · Combo-point finisher engine
Seal Fate What it does Strikes generate combo points, with critical strikes contributing more. Reaching five points triggers a free Eviscerate that favors bosses, elites and wounded targets.
When to choose it Pair the ability with frequent strikes and critical hits to build points toward free Eviscerates.
Watch the condition It needs strikes to build points and has a point-generation limit. The same-named talent instead grants a chance for spells to strike twice.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Rogue talents → Rogue field guide Blade splash arrow interface symbol Hunter · Ranged arrow coverage
Auto Shot What it does Deals Physical damage to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Use it as consistent ranged pressure, with Piercing Shots helping an arrow reach an enemy behind its first target.
Watch the condition Piercing and kill explosions are separate talent effects. They should not be assumed from the base arrow alone.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Ranged Arcane hit
Arcane Shot What it does Deals Arcane damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Pick it when a direct ranged attack fits your setup and compare its repeat frequency through Improved Arcane Shot.
Watch the condition It hits a limited number of targets; it does not create Volley's persistent ground coverage.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Multiple ranged targets
Multi-Shot What it does Deals Physical damage to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Choose it when several enemies survive the first arrow and you need separate targets damaged in the same cast.
Watch the condition Target coverage is capped by the spell's current target count. It is not a circular area hit.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Nature damage over time
Serpent Sting What it does Applies Nature damage over time to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Apply pressure to enemies that stay alive while you retreat, especially when direct shots leave several pursuers wounded.
Watch the condition Its damage arrives in ticks, so it is less immediate than a direct shot against an enemy already on top of you.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Ranged ground coverage
Volley What it does Places an area on the densest group within range, dealing repeated Arcane damage to enemies inside it.
When to choose it Use it against dense groups that can remain under the falling volley while you move around them.
Watch the condition The area is placed on a group and does not follow every enemy that leaves it; it deals Arcane damage in this client.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Close-range Fire burst
Explosive Trap What it does Deals Fire damage to enemies in a circle around you.
When to choose it Consider it when pursuers reach your position, or when Counterattack can turn a melee hit into an extra burst.
Watch the condition The burst is centered near you. Its root chance requires Entrapment; it is not part of the base damage effect.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Ranged slow
Concussive Shot What it does Deals Arcane damage to several enemies within range. Hits also slow affected enemies.
When to choose it Take it when a small number of pursuing enemies need to be slowed before they reach you.
Watch the condition It slows the targets it hits rather than covering a whole group or rooting enemies in place.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Heavy ranged hit
Aimed Shot What it does Deals Physical damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Choose it when a sturdy enemy needs a larger shot, then use Kill Shot or Rapid Fire to support its repeat casts.
Watch the condition Kill Shot's reset requires a killing blow and has a trigger limit; a shot that only wounds the target does not reset from that condition.
Talent connections Scatter Shot Shortens the cooldowns of Concussive Shot and Aimed Shot.
Kill Shot Makes Aimed Shot the opening spell, shortens its cooldown and lets killing blows ready it again, subject to a trigger limit.
Rapid Fire A shot-count milestone triggers a free Aimed Shot.
Plan Hunter talents → Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Persistent Fire trap
Immolation Trap What it does Creates an area where you stand once enemies approach, dealing repeated Fire damage to enemies inside it.
When to choose it Use it when a pack will continue crossing the ground near your position, allowing repeated Fire ticks to connect.
Watch the condition Its damage remains on the placed ground. Enemies that leave the area stop taking those ground ticks.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Rooting ground trap
Frost Trap What it does Creates an area where you stand once enemies approach, dealing repeated Frost damage to enemies inside it. Hits root affected enemies in place.
When to choose it Consider it when holding approaching enemies in a placed area would protect your route or keep them inside other ground effects.
Watch the condition The base effect roots rather than merely slowing. Boss roots last only a quarter as long.
Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Hunter · Marked-target payoff
Hunter's Mark What it does Marks the toughest enemy in range so it takes increased damage from all sources. Its death triggers an Arcane explosion before the next mark is applied.
When to choose it Pair it with attacks that can finish the toughest nearby enemy, so the mark's death explosion can reach the surrounding pack.
Watch the condition The explosion waits for the marked enemy to die. Mark transfer and explosions have timing limits.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Hunter talents → Hunter field guide Arrow coverage arrow interface symbol Warlock · Ranged Shadow pressure
Shadow Bolt What it does Deals Shadow damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Use it as the direct-hit partner to Corruption or Immolate, depending on the selected Affliction or Destruction talents.
Watch the condition Nightfall, Shadow Cleave and Conflagrate add different effects; a base bolt does not automatically have all three.
Talent connections Nightfall Shadow Bolt applies Corruption to its target, and Corruption ticks can trigger free Shadow Bolts.
Shadow Cleave Each landed Shadow Bolt forks to additional enemies.
Conflagrate Starts the run with Immolate; Shadow Bolt and Searing Pain cause already Immolated targets to explode.
Plan Warlock talents → Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Spreading Shadow route
Corruption What it does Applies Shadow damage over time to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Apply it to enemies that will survive several ticks, then use deaths in the pack to support Contagion or Seed of Corruption.
Watch the condition Spreading and death explosions require their talents. The base effect is ongoing damage on its current targets.
Talent connections Nightfall Shadow Bolt applies Corruption to its target, and Corruption ticks can trigger free Shadow Bolts.
Contagion When an afflicted enemy dies, Corruption and Curse of Agony pass to a nearby enemy.
Seed of Corruption Starts the run with Corruption and causes enemies dying under your damage-over-time effects to explode.
Plan Warlock talents → Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Fire damage over time
Immolate What it does Applies Fire damage over time to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Use it to mark enemies for a Destruction plan that follows with Shadow Bolt or Searing Pain, or for an Imp's additional hits.
Watch the condition Conflagrate's explosion requires the follow-up hit on an already Immolated enemy; the effect does not happen from applying Immolate alone.
Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Longer Shadow pressure
Curse of Agony What it does Applies Shadow damage over time to several enemies within range.
When to choose it Choose it when enemies stay alive long enough for sustained damage, with Contagion preserving pressure after a victim dies.
Watch the condition Its total damage is spread over time. Short-lived enemies may die before taking all of it.
Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Ranged Fire ground damage
Rain of Fire What it does Places an area on the densest group within range, dealing repeated Fire damage to enemies inside it.
When to choose it Use it against tightly grouped enemies that remain under the placed burning area while you move around them.
Watch the condition The baseline ground effect does not follow fleeing enemies. Rain of Chaos supplies the extra recurring cast and slow.
Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Frequent close Fire pulses
Hellfire What it does Deals Fire damage to enemies in a circle around you.
When to choose it Consider it when enemies remain close enough for repeated pulses, especially if Scorched Earth can help slow the pack.
Watch the condition Its coverage is centered on you and needs close targets. Scorched Earth's slowing effect is a separate chance-based talent interaction.
Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Direct damage and healing
Death Coil What it does Deals Shadow damage to an enemy within range. All damage dealt by the hit heals you.
When to choose it Use it when a ranged hit can restore health, or when Soul Reaping can cash in part of Drain Life's remaining damage.
Watch the condition The base healing comes from damage dealt; Soul Reaping additionally requires Drain Life to be active on that target.
Talent connections Soul Reaping Death Coil immediately deals part of Drain Life's remaining damage on that target without consuming the ongoing effect.
Legion Gate Summoned lesser demons include Succubi whose kills trigger a reduced-damage Death Coil.
Plan Warlock talents → Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Random-target Fire hit
Searing Pain What it does Hits a randomly selected enemy in range for Fire damage.
When to choose it Choose it to trigger Conflagrate on Immolated enemies, or to improve the upgrades inherited by a Pit Lord's Felseeker.
Watch the condition The baseline target is random. The Pit Lord connection requires Pact of the Annihilan and does not make Searing Pain itself a pet summon.
Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Damage-over-time healing
Drain Life What it does Applies Shadow damage over time to an enemy within range. A portion of the damage it deals heals you.
When to choose it Use it on a target that will remain alive long enough for ticks to restore health, then pair it with Death Coil if using Soul Reaping.
Watch the condition Its healing is gradual and damage-dependent; a target that dies early removes the remaining source of those ticks.
Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Ranged fear control
Fear What it does Deals Shadow damage to several enemies within range. Affected enemies flee; bosses are immune to the fear.
When to choose it Take it when approaching ordinary enemies need to be sent away before they reach you.
Watch the condition Bosses are unaffected. The fleeing enemies may also leave placed damage areas.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Warlock talents → Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Kill-fed Fire strike
Soulfire What it does Kills generate soul shards. Collecting five triggers a free, heavy Fire strike at an enemy within range.
When to choose it Use it when regular kills can supply soul shards and turn that momentum into a heavy strike against tougher enemies.
Watch the condition It needs shard generation from kills before the free cast. A fight with no additional kills does not feed the same trigger loop.
Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Warlock · Demon damage window
Demonic Empowerment What it does Temporarily increases your demons' damage, activating when enemies are nearby and a demon is fighting for you.
When to choose it Consider it after a demon-summoning talent is part of the build, so the active buff has a companion to strengthen.
Watch the condition It waits for nearby enemies and a demon fighting for you. Without a demon, the listed activation condition is not met.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Warlock talents → Warlock field guide Corruption chain arrow interface symbol Mage · Ranged Fire hit
Fireball What it does Deals Fire damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Use it for repeated direct Fire damage and to supply critical strikes for Ignite or Hot Streak.

Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Ranged Frost slow
Frostbolt What it does Deals Frost damage to an enemy within range. Hits also slow affected enemies.
When to choose it Choose it when slowing approaching enemies will help you keep casting from a safer distance.
Watch the condition Its impact splash requires Splitting Ice; the ordinary bolt does not automatically cover every enemy near the target.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Random-target missiles
Arcane Missiles What it does Fires several Arcane projectiles at randomly selected enemies in range; more than one can hit the same enemy.
When to choose it Use it when repeated projectiles suit your plan; against fewer nearby enemies, several missiles can converge on the same target.
Watch the condition The baseline missiles choose random enemies. Presence of Mind supplies the extra missiles and onward leaps.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Surrounding root
Frost Nova What it does Deals Frost damage to enemies in a circle around you. Hits root affected enemies in place.
When to choose it Take it to hold close enemies in place while you move into a clearer route or layer another area effect.
Watch the condition Boss roots last a quarter as long. The spell affects the area around you rather than a distant chosen spot.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Local Arcane burst
Arcane Explosion What it does Deals Arcane damage to enemies in a circle around you.
When to choose it Use it when enemies reach your position and a quick circular burst complements ranged attacks.
Watch the condition The area is centered on you. Clearcasting adds chance-based free casts but does not extend the base range by itself.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Slowing ground damage
Blizzard What it does Places an area on the densest group within range, dealing repeated Frost damage to enemies inside it. Hits also slow affected enemies.
When to choose it Use it on a dense pursuing group so repeated Frost ticks and slows can keep that group under pressure.
Watch the condition Its placed area does not chase enemies that leave it. The slow is not the same as Frost Nova's root.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Ranged Fire area
Flamestrike What it does Places an area on the densest group within range, dealing repeated Fire damage to enemies inside it.
When to choose it Choose it when a dense group will remain near the impact area long enough to take repeated Fire damage.
Watch the condition Enemies that leave the ground effect avoid its later ticks; it is not a persistent aura around the caster.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Random Fire hit
Fire Blast What it does Hits a randomly selected enemy in range for Fire damage.
When to choose it Consider it as another Fire damage event for a critical-strike or Ignite route.
Watch the condition Its base target selection is random, so it is less controllable than assuming every cast will finish a particular wounded enemy.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Slowing frontal cone
Cone of Cold What it does Deals Frost damage in a cone in front of you. Hits also slow affected enemies.
When to choose it Use it when enemies approach from a clear direction and a frontal slow will help you turn or move away.
Watch the condition It covers the space in front of you, not a full circle. Keep enemies behind you out of your escape route.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Area damage and slow
Blast Wave What it does Deals Fire damage to enemies in a circle around you. Hits also slow affected enemies.
When to choose it Take it when a surrounding group needs both immediate Fire damage and reduced movement speed.
Watch the condition It acts around your current position; enemies outside the burst are not slowed by that cast.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Heavy Fire hit
Pyroblast What it does Deals Fire damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Choose it when a durable target needs a large hit or when Hot Streak can supply extra casts from Fire critical strikes.
Watch the condition Its naturally longer gap between ordinary casts still matters when the free-cast condition is not being met.
Talent connections Ignite Fire critical strikes add a damage-over-time burn to their targets.
Improved Blast Wave Shortens the cooldowns of Blast Wave and Pyroblast.
Hot Streak A Fire-critical-strike milestone triggers a free Pyroblast, subject to a rate limit.
Plan Mage talents → Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Absorb protection
Ice Barrier What it does Creates an absorb shield based on your maximum health. The ordinary cast is renewed after the shield breaks.
When to choose it Use it to absorb incoming hits while maintaining your ranged damage and control plan.
Watch the condition The barrier has a finite absorb amount and is recast after breaking. It does not make the caster immune.
Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Mage · Hit-triggered crowd control
Polymorph What it does Spell hits can turn ordinary enemies into harmless sheep. The next hit on a sheep ends the transformation and causes a capped Arcane explosion based on its maximum health.
When to choose it Pair it with frequent spell hits against ordinary enemies, then damage a sheep to release its Arcane burst near the pack.
Watch the condition Bosses and guardians are immune. Sheep count and application rate are limited, and the next hit ends the harmless wandering state.
Talent connections No spell-specific talent interaction is recorded in the current checked talent definitions.
Plan Mage talents → Mage field guide Frost & control arrow interface symbol Paladin · Persistent ground damage
Consecration What it does Creates an area where you stand once enemies approach, dealing repeated Holy damage to enemies inside it.
When to choose it Let pursuing enemies spend time in the consecrated area while you preserve an exit around its edge.
Watch the condition The ground effect stays at the placement point; moving away can also move enemies out of its remaining ticks.
Paladin field guide Holy Shock chains arrow interface symbol Paladin · Ranged Holy hit
Exorcism What it does Deals Holy damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Choose it to damage enemies before they reach you; Divine Storm can extend the hit to a group around its target.
Watch the condition The base spell has limited target coverage. Its impact explosion requires Divine Storm.
Paladin field guide Holy Shock chains arrow interface symbol Paladin · Repeated ranged pressure
Hammer of Wrath What it does Deals Holy damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Use it to keep Holy damage reaching enemies at range, with Righteous Hammer offering an additional strike on the same target.
Watch the condition The listed base attack does not carry Execute's low-health damage multiplier; its named repeat-hit interaction is talent-dependent.
Paladin field guide Holy Shock chains arrow interface symbol Paladin · Bolts with self-healing
Holy Shock What it does Fires several Holy projectiles at randomly selected enemies in range; more than one can hit the same enemy. Each hit also restores health based on your maximum health.
When to choose it Consider it when you need ranged Holy damage and healing from hits, then use Divine Favor to extend each bolt into surrounding enemies.
Watch the condition Its base bolts select random enemies. The extra leaps and Holy Wrath triggers come from selected talents.
Talent connections Divine Favor Makes Holy Shock the opening spell and lets its bolts leap to additional enemies.
Daybreak Holy Shock critical strikes trigger a free Holy Wrath around you, subject to a trigger limit.
Plan Paladin talents → Paladin field guide Holy Shock chains arrow interface symbol Paladin · Surrounding Holy burst
Holy Wrath What it does Deals Holy damage to enemies in a circle around you.
When to choose it Take it when enemies gather around you, or as the payoff for a Holy Shock critical-strike route.
Watch the condition It bursts around your position. A distant target is not reached merely because Holy Shock hit it.
Paladin field guide Holy Shock chains arrow interface symbol Paladin · Ranged Holy strike
Judgement What it does Deals Holy damage to an enemy within range.
When to choose it Build around it when you want a strong recurring Holy hit, with Seal of Command adding nearby targets.
